Features & Activities

  • Playground for the Kids

Parents of young children really appreciate our fenced in playground with its huge sandbox; while the bigger "kids" are free to explore the forest around us.

  • Perky Pine Cafe & Meeting Room

The Coffee Shop is open in the lobby of PIne Rest Cabins from 8:30 to 4:30 Monday through Saturday  in the winter months and extended hours in the summer.  Gather here for fun and  take advantage of the wi-fi connection.  Grab a game from the game cupboard to take back to your cabin.

  • Hiking and Biking The Mickelson Trail

The Mickelson Trail is a 109 mile trail that runs through the heart of the Black Hills, connecting Deadwood with Edgemont. The Burlinton Northern  trail head is located 1 mile north of Pine Rest Cabins in Hill City at Tracy Park.   Our  "  Big Back Yard "  is the Black Hills National Forest - great for roaming freely or  visit any of the well marked trails in the National forest or Custer State     Park within a few miles  of the cabins.

  • The Hot Tub & Sauna

The Bathhouse is the place to be after an active day of outdoors pursuits. The hot tub is avaliable year round for ages 12 and up. During the cool months our sauna is a popular hot spot! This traditional Finnish Sauna is heated by wood, so give us some notice if you would like us to have it stoked up for you or get "how to" instructions.
